The Age of Empires series will forever be remembered for its solid RTS design and influence in the genre. With the shutdown of Ensemble Studios in 2009, fans of the series were left to wonder what would become of Age of Empires. Although there was no doubt there would eventually be another title in the series, many wondered whether the series had fallen off the list of premier RTS titles. New AOE series developer Robot Entertainment hopes to quell such concerns with their online-focused take on the series. (The beta is available now at the AOE Online website).

For fans of the Diablo series, Torchlight stands as a one of the best imitations of the hack-n-slash classic. This is no surprise as it is already well known that several of Torchlight’s lead designers were on the same Blizzard teams that developed Diablo I and II. With the overwhelming reception of the first game, the team at Runic Games kept its ears open to fans of the game and started work on a bigger and badder sequel, Torchlight II, this time complete with multiplayer.

This is the latest gameplay footage from the Game Developers Conference 2011. The game will be in stores in North America on March 29, 2011.

The PC, appropriately, is the lead platform for Battlefield 3 - unlike Bad Company. It will support up to 64 players and feature even further terrain damage.

The neo-noir adventure game Gemini Rue is out now. The atmosphere, art, and storytelling are extremely intriguing. Created by a UCLA student who won the Student Showcase at IGF, the game depicts a rain-drenched, dystopian future. You can buy it over at Wadjet Eye Games, the game's publisher.

The original four player Tekken was awesome on PS2. Happy to see a sequel on its way, but so far its only been announced for the Arcade. I would think a PS3 and Xbox 360 release are in Namco's plans.
