Chrono Trigger will be making its way to PlayStation Network as a PSOne Classic in North America. Square Enix has officially announced that the PlayStation version of the original Super Famicom/SNES all-time great will be released on PSN this Spring. Chrono Cross shares a Spring release date on PlayStation Network as well.

The PSOne version of the game was originally released in the Final Fantasy Chronicles collection along with Final Fantasy IV. The version included animated cutscenes that the original SNES copy didn't have. The news of the PSN release was initially revealed by the game's PlayStation 3 and PSP ESRB rating. The game will also release on Nintendo's Virtual Console on April 26th. The VC version is simply emulated.

Chrono Trigger DS saw release in 2008, which featured an updated translation, dual-screen and touch-screen support, and a monster Arena with two new areas: the Lost Sanctum and the Dimensional Vortex. Those updates will not be included.
